Interview with Hunter, Founder of Web3 Asset Data Platform RootData

"Data is the high ground of Web3." Hunter, co-founder of RootData, said in an interview. As a startup focused on Web3 asset data, RootData is breaking the information asymmetry in the industry with a one-stop platform, providing users with transparent and reliable decision-making basis.

Hunter introduction, RootData was established in early 2022, aiming to create a Web3 version of "Qichacha". The platform integrates multidimensional data such as projects, institutions, individuals, and investment financing, covering over 100,000 projects and serving more than 2 million users. Unlike platforms like CoinMarketCap that focus on price data, RootData focuses on "underwater data", which includes on-chain information such as project fundamentals, investment financing dynamics, and community activity.

"The volume of information in Web3 is enormous and chaotic, making it very difficult to find valuable data." Hunter stated that the core objective of RootData is to lower the cost of information acquisition and solve the problem of information asymmetry. The platform helps users quickly obtain the information they need through differentiated data, a one-stop experience, and user-friendly design.

Regarding the issue of data accuracy, Hunter admitted that it is a long-term challenge. RootData adopts measures such as data tracing, user feedback, and regular verification to ensure data quality. "We do not pursue perfect data, but we strive to make data transparent and timely, helping users save time and make decisions."

Speaking about future plans, Hunter stated that RootData is exploring new businesses such as OTC trading matching and points systems. "The ultimate goal of Web3 projects is to empower trading, but a compliant path needs to be found." He believes that issuing tokens is not the only way out; Web3 entrepreneurship should seize real demand and create useful products.
