European Central Bank Survey: Eurozone Consumers Lower Recent Inflation Expectations
Jin10 data July 29, the European Central Bank released a survey on Tuesday showing that Eurozone consumers lowered their inflation expectations for the coming year in June, indicating that the recent period of uncontrolled price rise has ended. The European Central Bank's survey of 19,000 respondents showed that the median expected inflation rate for the next 12 months fell from 2.8% last month to 2.6% in June, while the expectation for inflation over the next three years remained stable at 2.4%, and the expectation for inflation over five years stayed unchanged at 2.1%. Although consumer expectations are not always the best indicator of actual price trends, the European Central Bank places great importance on expectations and closely follows a range of indicators, as they may influence wage setting, which in turn affects prices.
